For TVs ...

Do any providers in Israel have HD service, if so does the PAL vs NTSC still matter?

I have a 42" LCD, that doesn't support PAL (but does support all the HD formats)

In the aricle you state:
. If you have an IPHONE 3G, the Google maps will work here in Israel.

I have a new iPhone 3GS, and can't see any streets in Israel on the maps

Any tips?

I just arrived in Israel and plugged in my Dell desktop with an adaptor but forgot to first change the power supply (I assumed it operated like a laptop which just needs the adaprtor). When I turned on the power bar I heard a loud pop in the computer tower so I assume something shorted. I have two questions –

1. can this be easily/cheaply fixed (if not, is there a way I can get the data off the internal harddrive) and
2. how do I “change the power supply”?

Thanks in advance,
Eric
