In many cases , the Cydia application fails to install or update apps after jailbreaking your Iphone with v3.0. There seems to be a conflict with the ICY and Cydia Apps installed on the jailbreak.
To fix:
1.Backup your phone
2.Re-jailbreak your phone using redsnow.
3.Deselect Cydia,
4.If you’d like ICY installed select ICY
5.When the jailbreak completes, you should have a working install of ICY and Cydia.
This is my updated list of tops apps for Iphone v 3.0 Ultrasn0w - This app will provide software unlock for your Iphone 3G. version 3.0 This is required in order for the Iphone to operate on one of the Israeli Carriers. The unlock currently works on firmware version 3.0. Be sure not to upgrade your firmware if you want the unlock to work on your phone. To download the file, add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to your cydia sources.
Waze -Waze is a social mobile application that enables drivers to build and use real-time road intelligence on what's ahead, what to avoid and the quickest routes at any given moment. The service includes constantly updated road maps, and delivers traffic and accident alerts and data on the fastest route to wherever you're going. To install, add cydia.waze.co.il to the sources on cydia or ICE.
Skype- the Skype client is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family around the world. Skype offers unlimited country and world plans. Skype can be downloaded from the App Store. Fring: This application integrates your SKYPE account along Instant Messaging and Social Networking sites including Facebook and Twitter. Fring can be downloaded for free at the App Store.
Tricker ThreeG- This application will allow you to use Skype, Fring and Slingbox over your 3G connection on your Iphone. You will no longer be confined to using Wi-Fi for these apps. You can find this app on Cydia.
Backgrounder- Allows you to keep an Iphone application running after you exit the application. This app is really helpful for keeping Skype running for inbound calls. This app can be downloaded from Cydia.
HebDict- This Hebrew/English dictionary is an add-on to "wedict" which can be found on the App Store. HebDict can be downloaded using Cydia.
IsraelMoney- This app can be downloaded for free at the appstore. It will provide current exchange rates of the Shekel to foreign currencies.
PocketLuach- This app is available for purchase through the appstore. It provides a Hebrew Calendar along with zmanim, sefirah counts and a siddur.
Cycorder - While not specific to Israel users, Cycorder brings video camera capability to your Iphone for those not on 3GS. Cycorder can be found in Cydia. What are your favorite Iphone Apps? Feel free to comment on this blog
Now that I've had the 3.0 firmware for a week, I'd like to share my first impressions. I find 3.0 to be more stable than the 2.X versions. My Iphone no longer reboots itself throughout the day. I love the cut and paste and new search capabilities as well as the tether. I also like the landscape keyboard, I no longer have to "fat finger" the tiny keyboard keys. I love the support for my Bluetooth Stereo Headset for listening to Itunes, other audio apps, and taking phone calls. I haven't much need for the voice recorder, though I Imagine others will. What I don't like: Many of my Cydia apps will not install or update due to dependency issues. Looks like I might have to uninstall them and start over. All in all increased stability, nice new features, doesn't play so nicely with Cydia. Are you running 3.0? what do you think?
The release of Ultrasn0w, the software unlock for firmware v3.0, has been delayed. There is currently an issue with the unlock that disables the YouTube application. The Dev-Team are working on resolving the issues and hope to have it released soon. redsn0w, which is currently out, provides a jailbreak for the new firmware and will include the Ultrasn0w unlock tool when it is released. Before making any changes to your Iphone, I recommend reading the golden rules from the dev-team site.
GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use redsn0w right now. Ultrasn0w (the 3G carrier unlock) is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for. UltraSn0w will be released via APT (cydia and icy) soon. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.0 carrier unlock works with this redsn0w release.
Yellowsn0w in its current form will NOT work with the baseband version that is present in the 3.0 update, you will need Ultrasn0w, which will be released sometime soon, Ultrasn0w will work with all iPhone 3G models (but not 3GS), even ones that were previously unlockable, Ultrasn0w (when available) will be released via APT (this means you will be able to get it via Cydia or Icy).

This app is suitable for the recent 3.0 release
redsn0w will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.
redsn0w WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch, iPod touch 2G and the iPhone 3G (not the iPhone 3GS).
To use redsn0w simply upgrade the device in iTunes to firmware version 3.0 and run redsn0w to activate and jailbreak the device (and if you are using an original iPhone 2G, it will unlock it too!)
